I don’t remember that event, although I do remember 1st December 2010. City were at home to Red Bull Salzburg. My then 4 year old sons first night game. A couple of inches fell that afternoon and We had to leave after 25 mins as we were both so cold. He still remembers to this day.

Had some extremely cold encounters at Old Trafford too, in fact the coldest I've ever been to was Brighton last year in the FA Cup Quater final .. teams walked out onto a snow covered pitch too..

Seem to remember 30th November was the main day/night where snow fell all over (around 10-30cm widely) so the day after it must have been chilly yes.

The one I mentioned in the video December 2008 was very satisfying as no one else in the country got anything like we did and it took everyone by surprise in my area waking up to 10cm

Was off school for a day we woke up to a good covering which no one expected. 2 days after there was a big warning from the Met for even more snow with a possible significant covering but it fell as sleet and rain

Possibly something similar next week?!

Hopefully plenty of snow chances from the sliders, cold & unstable air with low pressure around ❄️❄️

Plenty of "SPECIAL" extremely cold encounters with the UTD team too.

How does that add up?

It's reverse psychology, if their hot water and heating were still kaput then sods law says that it'd be Baltic, but as it is its fixed so probably mild then. Like taking a brolly so it doesn't rain.

Toys well and truly out of the pram on the models thread this morning ! You can play netweather bingo easily each winter on there with certain phrases-

‘beast from the east’

’amazing charts’

’somewhere is going to get a dumping’

’downgrades’

’Atlantic pushing through’

‘Winter is over’

etc etc!!

Yep they're over analysing Day 10 outputs which are chopping and changing on a regular basis as they hope for something truly outstanding weather wise. Seems like a pretty typical westerly dominated winter with a few colder/snowy interludes to me? The SSW not really manifesting itself yet has done for many in there.

outlook for Sunday to Tuesday:

Sunday will be colder and brighter but very windy with wintry showers. Monday will be mainly dry, less windy but still cold. Snow showers are likely on Tuesday !!!!!!

I’m really not keen on the banter/cold combination thread at all.

Do not go near the mad thread if you want to keep your sanity. I’m getting depressed just dipping into it. You would think we are about to have 2 weeks of a euro high.

Tuesdays PM shot has upgraded somewhat. Lowest I can find on GFS now is 515 DAM thickness with -8.6 T850.

Met text forecast has updated and goes along with this as posted.

Wednesday/Thursday’s low is currently not looking that favourable for snow with a big warm sector but we’re only seeing both sides of the envelope and a middle-ground might not be too bad. Even now I expect it would be snow to rain.

Totally agree, I'm done with posting in there. Going to focus my thoughts in here from now on purely on our regions snow prospects.

In work, but as @Spah1 has posted all looking good for us early next week

Made the silly mistake of going in the MAD thread and thought oh no mild SW

Then I thought I would look at the charts myself and found there to be snow oppertunities next week backed up by the METO as posted by @Spah1 06GFS seems to back this up as well so basically for our region not much change from yesterday.
