The best one i've ever heard of for Liverpool was 17th/18th Dec 2010, us in the pennines only got 3 inches but further West on the coast got 6-12 inches from that event.

That was special, definitely in my top 3 snow events. 6 inches of snow accumulated in one hour then in the following days the settled snow had the texture of sand because it was so cold.

Sprinkling a bit of dandruff here from the small shower that's broken out ahead of the main band.  I'll expect it to be pretty snowy later when the main clump passes through.

Wet snow has turned into surprising heavy snow and now lying, Formby Merseyside, temp has rapidly dropped over the last few hours from  6 degrees to 1.4 degrees.

The radar returns are getting brighter (could it be picking up hail)?

Also getting darker here but the main band is about an hour away.

Smoked paprika and grilled peppers ( not from a jar), garlic, bay leaf, lots of tomatoes and paste....

Sounds perfect! The suns out over here on the other side of the peaks, what a different abit of altitude makes!
