Snow struggling to settle on roads/pavements, despite intensity. Hopefully this will improve later on.

Looking at radar, this could go on for 30 minutes or more. It's back building.

Buxton getting buried as usual

Has to be close to the snowiest place in England? Surprised it doesn't snow all year round! Lovely town as well, I'd be very tempted to relocate!

For you guys up here away from higher ground the intensity of any showers is going to be key as to whether the snow settles or not. In lighter falls probably going to struggle, but heavier falls I would think be condusive for decent settling at lower levels. Of course questions to be had over how much it holds on after the shower has passed through.

Not surprised Buxton is getting hammered, I suspect most towns above 200M on the western side of the Pennies will get hammered, same for most places in Lake District, etc.

Now settling readily on roads and pavements at last. I presume this must mean that dew points must be on the way down?

Snowing heavy now, and sticking although still has a wet look about it so will need regular top-ups to stop any melting in between the showers.

Agreed. Big gap on radar coming so I expect all that has settled to melt before the arrival of the next batch. However, showers could pop up quickly in between. Seen that many a time in these setups.

That next band behind it looks to have something quite intense in store for the south of the region though.
