Still a bit murky but a damn site better than the fog and damp of Christmas Day.

it’ll certainly go down as a foregettable one, weather wise.

hope you all had a good un.

Not bad here in Liverpool it's chilly and overcast but bright, if that makes sense. Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas

Reflections on christmas weather this year:

What a pity the synoptics of christmas eve couldn't have arrived a day later - a very seasonal Christmas Day would have happened. Alas christmas eve was a beautiful day, frost lingered throughout, cars frosted over, and it was overall very festive - so pleased we got it, amongst a sea of grey mild gloom. Christmas Day was very drab and quite raw especially in the morning - mind I would rather have such conditions than wind and rain, or mild and sunny.

Unfortunately the rest of this week, looks more gloom - today is another one of those low cloud days where you can't see anything - so uninspiring, time to hibernate indoors I guess. I always hope for a decent weather day between christmas and new year for high fell walking, preferably with some snow, not this year.. Its been a common theme of recent years it seems, an odd day here and there but second half of Dec has been a write off for cold, frosty snowy weather. Last year we had the snow on the 29th which was great, but didn't last.

We have to go back to 2010 when we last had a cold New Years Day.

Hoping the snows will come at last in January. December has been virtually snow free on the high fells. No doubt Easter will be much colder than christmas week!

Yes certainly gloomy out there (again) no signs of any sun for a good while, maybe next week? at least with Atlantic pressure systems there was sun in between them. Really loathe these boring slow moving situations.

Greetings fellow North westerners, not posted on here for a while, normally i'd be trawling through the forums looking for signs of cold snowy weather, this year i'm hoping it stays away as I'm off with the wife to the pacific coast of Mexico in a couple of weeks for some sunshine and to celebrate her birthday , so I do not want anything to get in the way of that plane leaving.

Weatherwise it's another grey dismal  day in Wigan with a temp of  8.5c, so pretty boring.

Nice, we did the Pacific coast of Mexico on a cruise a couple of years ago.

it seemed hotter than the Cacun side but the Corona was just as cold and a bit cheaper.
