Just driven up the M66 and from 3.5c in Bury it’s down to 0.5c here but surprisingly no freezing of the rain as yet.

We have heavy rain here now. Looks like a bit of sleet mixed in.

The rain is freezing here...freezing cold that is...no sign of the skating rinks yet probably  just as well really.  This very rare weather phenomenon stays a little more elusive particularly in this neck of the woods...not sure what it's like up in the highest peaks but roads appear to be okay at the moment.

Power cut in Romiley, dunno if it has anything to do with the weather

The hateful British climate has really excelled itself today.  1.3C, high wind and what appears to be normal rain, not the freezing variety which I find surprising given the air temp.  Horrid day

Only in the UK can we get plain old rain with these bitter conditions. Absolute joke. Going to enjoy xmas and hopefully a decent mid winter will come our way with plenty of the white stuff.

Still 1.3°C but the inversion has nearly won the day now with the cold layer being mixed out within the next hour.

Went pretty much as I expected really although I still think if the precipitation had arrived earlier we would‘ve  seen some transient snow at least.

Everything wooden in the garden is covered in a layer of ice which makes walking on the decking to feed the cats rather an adventure! Weather station shows 1oC now.
