Mate honestly.. west of the m6 is about as bad as it gets if you like snow.

Only real hope for my location is easterlies.. and the pennine areas like here tend to gollop all the precip as we saw in march.

Yeah, Easterly and North Easterly fine. South Easterly flow terrible for our location, which is fine by me if freezing rain is all we can expect!

It’s nearly here.

Can we squeeze a few flakes out or is it just cold rain

Seems to be wintry mix here with ice pellets, raindrops and partially melted snowflakes. Some massive gusts of wind.

It’s gonna fall as rain or freezing rain regardless of your DP, snow strictly reserved for the highest ground in our region. And even then I’d be surprised.

The inversion is between around 3000–7000 feet now so doubt there will be any snow anywhere now with the inversion grown that big.

My hope now is that the sub-0 layer between 200–800 m is thick enough for ice pellets, otherwise it’s just rain all the way everywhere.

Temp is falling quickly. Evaporative/melt cooling bringing down the lower freezing level. A bit surprised what with the strong wind.

 1.4/-1.3.

Initial frontal band knocking on my door....but a more active band quickly pepping up behind it.....still fully expecting lots of wind driven cold rain but might get a slushy flake in a blink and you'll miss it starter.

Remember the snow is melting at 8000 feet, so you would have to be that high to see snow now.
