Well this is a bit of a surprise. Currently 1.4°C despite the on-shore wind. I suppose it is very light.

The WRF 0Z predicted a current temp of 8.0°C; not bad that only 6.6°C out!

SST's around our locale have been generally running average to below all year as I've kept an eye on it, hopefully bodes well for the Winter ahead as we need all the help we can get.

Temp 4c feels a lot lot colder

Good stuff, the colder the better. 3 months of snow would be nice...

A cold day. Max 6.7°C. Min last night 1.1°C with a light ground frost.

Current Crosby SST is 51°F. The average for December is 49.3°F so running a little warm atm.

Currently 4.3°C. 2°C below the WRF prediction for this time; it’s not doing very well today is it.

If only The boundary layer  was a little colder tomorrow morning would be very interesting. It’s your classic southerly tracking low and cyclonic loop of the winds. As it is I think all the evaporative cooling in the world is not going to bring the freezing level down from 4000 feet. Never say never but I estimate the risk  of low level snow less than 5%.

A cold dank winters day - how December Days should be. A cold frosty start, cloud moved in quickly and temps maxed out at a lowly 4 degrees - misty murky conditions all day.

A cold evening, before rain moves in for the morning. A poor dark wet winters morning ahead - becoming mild again.

Still raining

It's wibbleing ridiculous at this point. Has anyone actually seen the sun these past few weeks in the north west?

Just a constant vile stream of murky cloud and murky rain.

Oh dear today and yesterday are the sort of days that do no-one good at all - low cloud, dank dreary, very wet at times - perpetual darkness at the darkest period of the year. Alas, we often suffer such days in December unfortunately. Tomorrow looking equally miserable, Saturday now not much better either - Sunday hopefully should bring some brighter cleaner colder skies thanks to polar maritime air.

These are the dark days before christmas - depressing weather!

Had a very brief but potent squall that rose me from a slumber about 7am... radar picked it up well too.  Hopefully a little clearance before showers pile in later on this evening and into tomorrow.  Hard to remember just how dry this summer was now with the recent deluge of rain.
