Good luck on staying up, gave it a decent go against us on Saturday.

Yep the goals were quite sloppy to concede. Cheers, same I can't stand them.

I see on the MOD thread a northerly is now being advertised for the 28th as well. Whether it comes to fruition or not, I just hope it doesn't get pushed back at all as I've got to go away for a week to Cyprus on the 6th April for my sister's wedding and I'd hate to miss out on any fun and games here. Still at least another easterly is possibly on the cards in the more reliable less than a week away. Also my birthdays on the 30th so there could be a chance there'll be snow on the ground only 5 years after the only time that's happened in my life so far, which would be quite incredible considering how late that is after the end of meteorological Winter and the fact I've seen a few warm and sunny birthdays before now too. But I've got to admit rather selfishly to wanting Spring to properly establish before I go away, just so I won't miss out on anything here. Not that that seemed very likely before now (we are talking nearly a week into April after all), but now I'm starting to wonder and am getting a little anxious about it :D. As long as what the models are showing now doesn't get delayed any I should still be at home to enjoy it. That's one reason I don't like going away in Winter (even to somewhere that's more wintry), just in case I miss out on a potent wintry spell at home. Anyway there's still a fair chance Spring will kick in properly by then and I can enjoy the last gasps of this Winter fully before then (providing the models have got this right of course) before the road to Summer is finally established and we have to wait until later in the year for the next chance and hopefully this early Springs wintry flavour is just the appetiser for the main course next Winter :) .

rubbish song though! early 2000's for me, but yes, Sun/Mon look very good, short lived beast, at least W Midlands shouldn't see over a foot this time, as no lows pushing up from South

Met Office updated forecasts sound full of wintry potential.

Outlook for Thursday to Saturday:

Bands of rain spread northeast Thursday, with the gales transfering northeast. More showery uin southwest on Friday. Becoming colder for many Saturday, risk of snow in northern and central areas.

Outlook for the UK over the next 6-30 days

UK Outlook for Sunday 18 Mar 2018 to Tuesday 27 Mar 2018:

Very cold through Sunday and Monday with widespread, locally severe, frosts overnight. Quite frequent snow showers for a time across central, eastern and southeastern parts, with a few showers reaching the west. There is a low risk of more persistent snow moving west across southern and some central areas, this more likely on Sunday. The brightest and driest conditions in the northwest, but probably extending across other parts, with snow showers confined to the southeast. Windy for many, accentuating the cold feel. Increasingly uncertain later in the week, but with a high chance of colder than normal conditions, after a short anticyclonic spell with severe frosts in places. Probably becoming rather unsettled and sometimes windy from the west with rain possibly turning to snow as it moves northeastwards.
