I think areas such as Worcester and Stratford-upon-Avon might getting a glancing blow, but probably not anywhere further north - we'll see!

Surprised at the comparative lack of electrical activity down there so far.

Not surprised as the Cape levels are not that high.

But for us Midlanders Thursday afternoon into the evening is the one for us to keep eye on Bish

Clouded over now, on what was a pleasantly sunny day, the rain that hit Ondon/the South east looks like its going to stay to the south, Coventry may get a few drops but not much more.

for the rest of us it looks like staying as it did over the bank holiday weekend - Dry, glad i watered the garden on Saturday

Very true! Monkspath Weather Station recorded a whopping 36.25mm of rain on Friday plus a further 22.75mm on Sunday, a huge amount to fall within such a short period of time. And other areas very nearby to here would, of course, have witnessed even higher totals.

That's well over 2".....I'm sure MIA mentioned that some parts of Brum doubled that just on Sunday.

With more coming over the next few days   ⚡

Was expecting the weekends rain band to have some movement, but it just kept on going as if it was on a track, one band to the north, and another to the south-west, if you were under you must have got pasted, if you were between the streams, then nothing at al.

The only noticeable thing was the amount of traffic heading into East Midlands airport overhead, and people rubbishing the met office/bbc weather warnings for being over the top again saying that they will be better off ignoring any warnings as its just another example of everything being to cautious

If anyone hasn't already noticed, but there is a pretty active lump over the low countries/southern north sea which looks like it could be heading in this general area.

That's tomorrows washout, no thunder/lightning, an exact repeat of Fri 25th May

Seems to be shifting fairly quickly, it'll probably be here by early morning.

How sure are you about that image.png.da894f6a05eacd13405b16f71c056b03.png

A low risk of any electrical activity but never say never :good:

Thursday looks very lively - at the moment, but these forecasts are a huge difficulty to predict.

Yes, hopefully similar to Sunday, dry warm day, then evening storms

Most certently, BBC have now updated their TV forecast....looks like that lot incoming is heading our way....Chris Fawkes mentioned it hitting the Midlands overnight and further showers/downpours for tomorrow.

Been keeping an eye on that lump over Belgium/Netherlands.

As I have a dog that is equally scared and excited by thunderstorms, I am equally excited and unhappy at the prospect of incoming over the next few days.

Rain Alarm (http://rain-alarm.com) is a pretty good radar as well, Dancer. I use it all the time now that RainToday seems to be permanently glitched.

Thanks, I really only use net weather Storm radar now as it shows all in HI RES, plus  anything coming up from the south, it’s rare for anything coming in from the Low Country’s, I will try it though....Cheers  Bish

I wonder whatever went wrong with poor old RainToday? It was the main goto site for many people for a long time but then, about a couple of years ago, it suddenly started glitching? So odd that it works for some of the time, but not for the rest.

It's Twitter feed hasn't updated since 2012, so it's pretty much a zombie site now. A real shame.

Been using rain alarm for a number of years now. I think it's very good.
