Absolutely miserable day today. Currently 5.9 °C and pouring with rain. At least next week looks a bit better.

It wouldn't take much .. 6C in April in the day is depressing. Only in the UK though (and Iceland too).

An average January day is warmer than currrently in parts.

It's coming to something when I look at the forecast for about Wednesday, with 12-14 °C on the cards -- nothing special at all -- and still think, "Hey, that looks really nice."

That would be splendid! ❄️

Rather have that than it just being cold and rainy.

Can't quite recall whether it was the 28 or 29 April in 2016 but we had settling snow in the morning with a temperature of only 0 degrees.

Pretty impressive that! In terms of potency, was a remarkable Northerly the UK had in late April 2016.

Looking back at the model archive, seemed to be a disturbance coming down from the North on the 28th April with Low Pressure settling directly over the UK on the 29th with cold 850mb temperatures, so wintry weather, especially for you further North, would have certainly been possible!

Think for here, it was just a mixture of hail, sleet and grainy snow showers mostly during that Northerly spell.

Not a bad afternoon here with plenty of warm sunny spells, And dry enough to mow the lawn.

It looks as though we might miss the rain tomorrow too. GFS has us dry, cloudy, cool and windy so I'll be interested to see what the BBC forecasters make of it later today.

Given the horrendous forecasts a little while ago, I'm actually quite relieved to now be looking at merely a cloudy, cool and windy day here in Worcestershire! It's still not exactly great weather for the last day of April -- it's 7.2 °C as I type -- but a vast improvement on what most forecasts were going for until last night. :) Radar currently has the western edge of the rain band on a line running roughly Peterborough to Reading.

Clouded over with some scattered convection in the last hour, but still quite pleasant.

Yep, it should. I suppose today could have still been worse, especially if it had been constantly raining or drizzling all day.

Nice shot! :) Especially love the way the sunrays poke through behind the clouds like that.

Temperature around 10*C currently with some bright spells.
