Interesting day today. Much nicer overall than I was expecting, with a fair amount of sunshine, and very warm too. Max 25.5 °C and no rain at all until the evening. It's bucketing down now though, but I haven't heard any thunder.

Bullseye! Got be some flooding from this. It’s biblical! Frequent lightning too.

Edit: More torrential rain, lightning and booming thunder now.

Can't believe no-one was posting on here last night. Those storms were immense! Stoke-on-Trent Live have made no mention of it either. Very odd. Was it all a dream?!

Another day of thundery showers ahead anyway.

Its sort of rumbling around frequently but not “getting going” so to speak.  I am in the house so might be missing something but I haven’t seen any lightening yet - has anyone else local to me seen any?

Had about an hour of downpours on and off including thunder and lightning. Seems to have drifted off over north of Telford now. I can still hear rumbling.

Look at the radar over an hour ago, it didn’t look that promising but now it’s pepped with showers and growing

We have a very nasty storm here at the moment.  Lightening is terrifying.  I cut my finger quite badly at tea time and very nearly cut another one off when this storm suddenly kicked off about 15 minutes ago I jumped so much!!!

Yep..got it here. Massive flash here just with almost instant thunder. Took the power out for a couple of seconds as it struck. We have overhead power cables so frequently get outages with power surges.

Getting some big BOOMS here, and it’s on it’s way to me from Coventry through Meriden, and the white dots are the ones that are happening right now, massive flashes ⚡⚡⚡⚡

It just continues to rumble in Solihull with no let up. Nothing spectacular on ground level but up high it's having a party.

Apparently tomorrow is going to be even better.

Here, although lots of flashes and almost continuous thunder for 2 hours, the heavy rain has missed us.

Lovely to watch a storm without any thoughts of being flooded out.

Sorry for you people directly under the thunder heads and getting flooded.

I was just thinking that, the forecast is for it be more wide spread right across the Midlands, makes a bloody change as it’s been years since I’ve seen this much action

WOW! What a storm we have had here! Never seen anything like it. We had heavy rain, strong winds and hail for a time. The worst had gone and it died down but the thunder and lightening stayed. Heavy and persistent rain now which is beginning to flood the street. Unbelievable!

Are there any more storms brewing across the Midlands for tonight or will we be able to get some decent sleep overnight.  Our local midland storm chasers seem to think it could be a noisy night across the region.

Yes, I concur. Not seen one like this. Forecast is worse tomorrow too.

Radar looks clear now to the South and South East.

I think after the line of storms has moved Northwards that we should have a quiet and peaceful night!!

(famous last words!)
