Looking at the radar, the bands are to both the north and south of the gap with nothing in between ?  ?

I give up and suddenly a line of heavy snow showers sets up over me. Coming down a fair bit at the moment. Not settling though, despite an air temperature of just 1’C.

Ok, I have to reply to this because it's misleading the entire thread, iv studied radars and the weather all my life, the low pressure that formed along the south side of the main low is pushing east,

Nathan "not a weatherman" Rao of the Express says "Army on Standby as heaviest SNOWFALL hits in next 24 hours" What a bellend!

Classic British snow event. Snow showers all night and not a single flake has settled, despite the temperature being barely above freezing. Absolute rubbish.

Looks very marginal though. Even places like here, with a bit of elevation, may just see sleet or a sloppy mess.

Still very mixed picture     Icon  drops it more south  to just below Brum Area    Arome  is  just above Brum   Hirlam  goes further North.    Could be anywhere   Radar watching i suppose.  Would be nice to see a couple of cm or so

Placed under a yellow warning for THAT! Is it any wonder we are the subject of mockery from people who live in countries which get genuinely big snow amounts?
