Think I'm right on the edge of the darker blue? Always hard to pinpoint my exact location on these maps. More than most models give me anyway.

GFS looks good for south Midlands - north midlands look to get a couple of cms from it, but looks light on its northern edge

Gfs looks good for all the mids. But trying to guess totals when the models don't agree yet is really pointless. But good to see it go further North and Icon pretty much the same as it was with light snow further North. Good start so far to the 12z

The latest GFS run looks very tasty for those in the Midlands. I think Birmingham, Leicestershire, Northamptonshire and Coventry/Wawrickshire will probably be in the sweet spot.

It seems to pivot over the Midlands before slowly dying out! Could see 5-10cm, widespread! Wish I was there now

Hoping for some agreement that this feature tracks a tad further north to really lock in expectations. I am not too far from MattStoke. I am out in Alton (Staffordshire). Hoping we get something from this feature. Yesterday was a nightmare, rain/sleet in Hanley then driving through the winter wonderland of Werrington and Cellarhead and home to nothing! Really fancy a snow day!.

Latest METO update now has this area for light snow from 6am until 9am this is a massive downgrade and appears at odds to other models based on the above posts? Can anyone provide guidance/info. Thanks

Thanks mate  I may be living about 2000 miles away at the moment but I'm still excited for you guys if you get some snow

It's rare to see the GFS wrong at t24-t30. I know the METO is a respected model but I've seen that backtrack towards the GFS at such a short timeframe, a fair few times. Let's see what happens, personally i'm going by what the GFS is saying at the moment.

If Hiralm is right we will get none maybe far South mids. Gfs is right were in sweet spot. So much uncertainty

Take no notice of met and BBC symbols as there fully automated and have no human input. So will always chop and change. If it snows it snows if it don't it don't. But we all need to remember no model is necessarily 100% right. The snow could be north or south of predicted path. Radar will be best to use when the system is in view.

Means they have to be punting for the gfs being right.
