Looks like a streamer of snow heading this way now, usual high spots in the Peak District could see some decent accumulations looking at the radar

looks rain posted in NW thread by NWsnow, but cold air meant to be behind todays rain, our chances tonight when winds turn NW'ly behind the rain

There’s more chance of rain there due to close to Irish Sea, seen it all before

The trough can be seen quite clearly now over Wales  should be close around midday   hopefully the Welsh Hills dont do to much damage   after that as the winds turn more north westerly  hopefully the streamer will come into play.

As usual the North of Stoke on Trent been downgraded. Yesterday was showing as heavy snow. I've seriously given up the hope of ever having decent amounts around here lol

Rain?.  Welsh thread says all snow.  However height will play a role.

Aye, and when it reaches here, heat of the day, usual areas of course above 200m will be mostly snow

Agree with that a few sleetyshowers here this morning winds due to go more to NW this afternoon with snow showers affecting  more of Liverpool,Cheshire and the NW Midlands  this Evening and overnight Carol on breakfast said that these areas could get a covering overnight.

Could be a lot of nice surprises for west, south and north midlands later on in regards to snow fall ...if you like snow that is

As much as I love the Welsh mountains (to visit), they sure can be selfish sometimes.

Bewilders me that the pros always dismiss there being much if any snow in this region away from high ground/hills from this setup. Met Office warnings still insisting settling snow will be above 200 m. I will be truly amazed if the north and west Midlands don't see a few cm to lower levels than that. Would be the first time this sort of setup has failed to deliver here.

Hit and miss to the east in my humble opinion but you might get a slice of the pie in Melton. 🤣

A lot of people in the NW thread are reporting rain/sleet.
