Could be snow if the precipitation was heavier, but it keeps weakening as it approaches the Midlands. Welsh mountains killing it off!

It snowed lightly earlier on this afternoon for around half an hour, along with a hailstorm. But that snow didn't settle. Whilst I am disappointed, I was however expecting this outcome and at least it isn't peeing down with rain for a change.

With things staying on the cold side next week, we could see some further sleet/snow showers.

yes, as it's early March it is possible, even with max temps of 8 degrees

So another “Winter” has ended. Here’s a quick summary of my observations regarding frost and snowfall:

Winter 2019/20 has been the ‘worst’ Winter since 2013, with below-average frost and snow

I recorded 4 days of snowfall

                 1 day of settling snow

                12 days of frost

This Winter makes me appreciate just how good Winter 2017/18 was, even if there was no BFTE I recorded regular periods of snow.  From Dec 17 to February 18 I never went more than 15 days without recording any snowfall. I hope that next Winter will be better!

Just at the tail end of a heavy snow shower which has whitened the ground temporarily.

Thought I'd make an actual weather post! Not a very interesting day here, however. Mostly cloudy with some rain of the "annoying rather than flooding" variety. Chilly without being interestingly so: max 7.5 °C; now 3.7 °C. The river is well down, at least -- the bridge in town is finally open to cars again, and even most low-lying farmland should be above water by the end of tomorrow. Mind you, it'll be a mess -- many of the fields already re-emerging are muddy expanses with no grass at all. That will grow back, but it'll take time.

Dubai Floods: Another Warning Sign for Desert Regions?

The flooding in the Middle East desert city of Dubai earlier in the week followed record-breaking rainfall. It doesn't rain very often here like other desert areas, but like the deadly floods in Libya last year showed, these rain events are likely becoming more extreme due to global warming.
