Radar looking very ominous, enough to make me do the dog walk at 8.30 in the morning in case I can't do it again today... First spots just arriving now

I'm saving myself.. Waiting for the rain here then getting waterproofs on to take the dogs.

Amazed there are still no warnings for here. Models all showing in excess of 50mm of rain for this area. We normally get warnings when half that is predicted!

Just had a 10 min burst of quite heavy rain, which popped up in the south Midlands.

Checking the RADAR it has now developed further and most of the Midlands is now covered in rainfall, and in places its getting quite heavy.

Rainfall RADAR now looking decidedly wet for today!

MIA

Just got back with the dogs, Absolutely lashing it down here and plenty more to come looking at radar. As Matt says re updated warnings for our area I agree it was pretty obvious and did wonder myself..

Relentless heavy rain continues here with winds touching gale force at times and plenty more to come on radar.

About an inch has fallen here so far and there is so much surface water everywhere. It goes to show how sodden the ground is. We're going to have some major flooding issues if this is a wet winter.

Just been out late night shopping and almost every road into the village is flooded. Had to take long diversions rather than risk it, those annoying floods where you don't know if it's 3 inches or 3 feet deep. Still raining relentlessly

Should be about 2 inches by the time it clears.

At least after this it looks dry for a few days.

Early predictions from me for the wettest November on record, last few GFS runs suggesting no dry weather at all from 1st

No trains out of Stoke this morning due to flooding in various locations.

Means I’m going to miss my Fluid Mechanics lecture, because of too much fluid.

GFS does love to overdo low pressure systems though. Hope that’s the case.

47.1 mm of rain in the 24 hrs up to 0800 g.m.t is the second largest daily total on record here in October ( since 1977). The October record is 49.6 mm on the 22nd in 1998.

Since the new update the GFS hasn't over done low pressure systems anywhere near to the extent it use too. It did very well with this very wet spell progging it first out of all the models last weekend it did well a couple of weekends back too its not perfect obviously but it's done well recently.. :unknw:
