think just delayed? today the usual, rains all day then stops at 5pm ish

When does all day begin?

In Walsall it was on and off between 3pm and 9pm -

Been a lovely start to the day here. Decent forecast until Sunday too, when it looks like it's going quite Autumnal.

Quite windy today, enough to take leaves and twigs from the trees. A maximum gust of 45 mph at 340 mts at 1200 g.m.t. A warm day though despite the wind with a maximum of 20.0c, about 2.5c above average here at this time of year.

The frost-watch discussion thread has been saying how unusual a Sept frost is!

Steady rain here and distinctly cooler than before. I absolutely love this time of year, filling the freezer with soups and stews, and baking lots of bread, and making crumbles to have with custard, mmmm.... and getting my lovely cosy winter woollies out again

Rumours starting of a distinctly cold second half to winter - and no, not just the Express's annual SNOWMAGEDDON!!! hysteria, proper actual analysis seems to be cautiously and warily suggesting we check our thermal undies are in order

Certainly more rain on yesterday's front than I expected. 14.5 mm here, the largest daily total since August 16th.

The sunniest day of the month, and since August 26th, and also the sunniest day in September since 2009 here yesterday with 10.2 hrs. It was virtually cloudless all day but we lose about 40 minutes sunshine in the evening at this time of year as the sun disappears  behind the moor to the west.

Looks like it's speed north. Still tipping it down and can hear what sounds like the occasional hailstone pinging off of the window too.

Relentless moderate sometimes heavy rain here so far this morning and plenty more to come looking at the Radar. Temp currently 14.8c.

Strange, the radar isn't showing any rain where I live, but it's absolutely piddling it down with that nasty fine stuff that absolutely soaks you to the bone :s  I'm guessing it's too fine for it to be picked up????

It certainly does, lets hope for a good one. Another 2017/18 type winter would be nice but with a BFTE in January instead of Late Feb/Early March.
