Yep tell me about it. On the plus side we get the dregs from most snow events as we're central. But like you said, we never get much from any event either. Most i've ever seen in my south Leicestershire area is about 7cm.

but we'll always have the Premier League title year....

Look at all these from the BFTE last year, pretty much everything missed us

Lol I remember that. MattStoke has similar look in his neck of the woods

The usual people righting it off before we get to lunchtime lol, yes the forecast do seem to say it’s struggling to reach here but nobody really knows at this stage. Give it chance

To be fair we're like 18 hours away. The chance of ICON, Arpege, Hirlam and ECM all being wrong at this stage is < 20%.

Some people in southern midlands will do okay out of this though, a few centimeters perhaps.

It's all pretty pointless as the latest GFS has temps up to 8/9C by the end of Tuesday.

Met Office has just updated weather warning for today to remove areas where disruptive snow now looks less likely and to extend warning southwards. Just Notts and Lincs left in for our region

As I mentioned yesterday Amber warning has been been issued for some lucky areas to the south of our region.

Yep seems like the front is struggling to get much further north and east, complete disappointment compared to a few days ago

The bit over Ireland should break away from the band currently west of Devon/Cornwall, which should push NE then. It's just how far will it push?

There's still a risk of course but yes, its looking less and less likely now. I think it's turned from an event to watch out for into one just to keep a small eye on in case.

However, we are still in January. We'll get stuck into our more familiar pattern next week then see where we go from there.

I'll be honest, the blue skies today do get me looking forward to those clear sunny, warm Spring days. I think it's because I'm 40 now!

3-7cm  means a Amber Warning?.  Really?.

More likely an Amber warning for the number of numpties that have no idea on how to drive in a few CM of snow!

EHM   I am not in the Brum conurbation Thank You

Birmingham/West midlands conurbation are used interchangeably, the whole of the black country is in that area.

Remember BFTE last year the main area with the biggest totals were over Somerset but the precipitation drifted more north than expected and the Midlands got a lot more than what anyone expected and caught most of us by surprised.

For what its worth GFS seems to paint the best picture for this evenings fun and games. Met Office have plenty of warning out so that would suggest some unpredictability even at this late stage.

Interestingly they say there is an Amber Warning for the SE however thats not reflected on their map. Odd!
