Today went as expected for me, I just felt it wasn’t going to deliver anything so didn’t build myself up. I’m hopeful for better on Thursday but the way this winter has gone so far wouldn’t be surprised if it’s another damp squid

It rained, then snowed, now stopping. Meh.....its just wet out. Winter just can't seem to get going!

so much for all the forecasts earlier in the winter saying we would have a very cold and snowy second half of winter.  what lies.

The arpege is very nice tbh. The only downside is that second band that moves in from the south as it all gets extremely marginal by that stage. Hopefully the Midlands remain on the right side of that and get a surprise additional snowfall throughout Friday.

Just draw a line a mile or so to the south of my house. I’m not joking. That’s how it normally goes.

zzzz. You're always saying things like this. But again, tonight, you have had quite a bit more snow than most (for example than here in Derby). The way you talk Stoke is on the equator or something

What event last week?  it rained a bit and i think it was frosty on the odd occasion.

Whenever snow is forecast, it almost always misses the Derby/Nottingham/Liecester/Burton on trent area

Don't look at the model thread if you want to be positive about Thursday.

Worse in there than here.

Peps get so passionerdo about it....it is so comical at times :whistling::oldgrin:

No it doesn't. It 'sometimes' misses. Honestly you lot need to look up the word 'hyperbole'. Everyone on here goes on about their particular town being snow starved or whatever. Silly

Loving the look of that, had a quick look and a secondary feature pops up Friday morning. So anywhere between 5-40 cms for east wales to west mids somewhere. I’m sure amber warnings are imminent!!

If the 12Z UKMO is right - look forward to half an hour of snizzle on Thursday north of Birmingham. Fantastic.

This winter has been a total joke as far as I’m concerned, you can always guarantee a covering, even a slushy covering at times during winter, but this year’s been a total mess. Made much worse by the SSW that I’m actual fact has made this website practically unreadable for weeks because people had stupidly high expectations.

I didnt, but so far this winter has been horrendous.

Lets hope for a wet, active and thundery summer to compensate for this mess.

and excellent post Totally totally agree with everything you said here some of those Strat experts are now I think will back off the SSW crap  The sad thing was anyone who disagreed with those expert got totally slaughtered on the forums this winter which I found rather disgusting

There is genuinely never a time where we should be thankful to avoid a dumping of snow, maybe if you live on a mountain in Austria, but for us? Nope, never.

True, but I am trying to be positive.

Yep staying well out of the Mod thread until Saturday its got seriously bitter. Over something that still has no resolution we just have an area of potential from Liverpool to Somerset to London. No one knows the outcome lol.

No point being too stressed or put out by the weather, it does what it does ?‍♂️

What I don't get is why some ar£& was driving 30mph on the M69 because of sleet/rain earlier?? Now that is over reaction
