Strange still sleet here

Definitely 100% snow here. I think the little bit of height difference is making the difference. My wife says it's still raining in Stourbridge. I reckon it'll mix down to lower levels very soon.

Sleet here as well, Gord's extra 50m obviously makes a difference

I don't think we'll be too different for long. The freezing point must be slowing dropping.

No settling though, only a little bit of car windscreens.

I think the east and south-east may do quite well out of this, as the front looks to be picking up energy now it has passed over the western side of the mids. I think any significant fall has gone here now looking at the state of the back edge of that front. And it's still predominantly rain here with just a few pieces of sleet mixed in. Temp 2.7C.

Keep watching. Surely you must only be moments away from it turning.

I bet I don't have to drive far in any direction (apart from Sedgley) to see it turn back to sleet.

Yeah don't you just love the snow forecast for days switching to rain as it happens

Same thing happens everytime for me.

I like looking at the models and watching for cold and snow like most on here.

But I am very pessimistic when anything is actually forecast unless I can see it outside the window.

Good news from the first of the afternoon 12zs. The ICON pushes Thursday's snow risk a bit further north.

Meanwhile, the snow continues to pour down here and............ everything is soaking wet.

The rain has turned into heavy snow up here but it's not sticking. Huge, wet flakes falling. Temp 2.6'C and falling.

It does seem like the weather apps and websites (mainstream ones anyway) err on the side of caution to me. They'd rather forecast snow and we get rain than the other way round - perhaps because for most people (excluding the "enthusiasts" in here) would prefer it that way. This is purely anecdotal of course but that's my impression

If you're in Hanley I suppose it's the city centre affect. In the suburbs it's sticking albeit slushy.
