Nothing but drizzle in Hinckley - Watching the radar and cant really work out where the precipitation is heading - looks as it we have missed the heavier stuff to the north - Not sure we will get anything to talk about unless the front really peeps up later this evening.

Driving out from Shrewsbury into the hills, you hit snow at 700 feet with slushy roads, wet white at 820 feet, freezing level on Stiperstones at 450 metres.

I'm at work in Tunstall which is quite low down in Stoke, it's thick, heavy and sticking!

I'm also around 200 meter from the highways agency depot....I have not seen a single gritter!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahh, I'm in Crewe but live in Halmer End (hill in Audley), just trying to gauge how it was at home (170m)

Still just rain here. But good to see some reports of things starting to turn.

I live on Wychwood but work in Tunstall (138m) so with that in mind then Halmer End should be battered with snow mate!

Cool, yeah interested as some parts of this thread have only rain at 200m and I'm only 170m so wasn't assuming anything! haha.

Personally hope it turns to snow here before dark. Just find daytime falling snow more exciting than nighttime falling snow.

Thursday looking very interesting, with this system basically grinding to a halt, many parts of midlands especially south and west could see a right dumping!! Expect Amber warnings to be issued inside next 24hrs

That front is petering out by the looks of it.

Light rain now in Nottingham. HIRLAM has it changing to snow around 4pm. Interesting the WRF NMM model shows snow streamers through the night from Cheshire through the Midlands on a NW/SE flow, so could be a few more flakes falling.

Heavy snow here at the moment. It's just starting to settle at 260 m and has whitened the ground above 290m.

Also in Nottingham! Can confirm no flakes as of yet but hoping for something a bit more wintry

YAWN fest again today. Same as last Tuesday, the PPN is coming through before it’s cold enough. Just like last Tuesday, there will be no accumulation here today. By the time the cold air mixes in, the fronts mostly gone and even if it’s not there won’t be enough left on it for a covering.

1-3CM widely across the Midlands is already bust IMO. Certainly below 200m.

Couple of poorly timed Tuesdays in a row.
