The front does seem to be delayed in getting to us. Is that down to simply the welsh mountains fragmenting the band  or is because its pushed further North then previously thought?.

I would say it's because its pushed slightly North weirpig.

Edit- Touching heavy snow now with all the hills around me white out.

The famous Newcastle microclimate, I remember it raining there and back home it was white over with cars ditched. It's heavy snow in Talke now btw (I think I have seen you post that you are from there, right?)

Yes mate, just down past the old Caldwell. More towards Butt Lane. So I need you keep me posted as to whether I can get home later lol

Light rain 3.6c Dew point 1.0c

Still a way to go for snow here think maybe late this evening. Called it a day at work as rain was harder now home its light.

The fact people are seeing a few flakes in stoke to my west.

Gives me a little hope for later.

Heavy rain on and off the last hour or so in Shrewsbury. To low and to west today I think (most of the precip will have passed over by the time its colder tonight I think)

West of here could be game on later.

Looking at the speed of the front and what's falling now.

Think I will be lucky to see any probably all done and dusted by like 7pm.

The heavier patches on the radar that are passing seem to be very light here..

Will have to hope Thursday comes off.

Of course not going to stop me watching rest of day with so little to get excited about this winter so far.

Will be nice to see some people on here finally get the white stuff!

I'm in the TC and there is nothing resembling snow falling here...

We are about to come out of the heavy band too looking at the radar an its even looking like we might get a pause in the precipitation within an hour or so.

You can see on the precipitation type radar its turned to snow on the back edge over wales and northwest england!!

That just uses some model prediction to work out if what precip there is would likely be snow or rain. It's not actually what's falling.
