Indeed. However, there will be a trailing weather front that brings sleet and snow east across the UK, to the north of the main area of precipitation. Even if the low itself doesn’t affect us, some snow is likely.

Any human generated forecast is going to be a lot more closer to reality than a weather app model output based thing, so looks good for West Midlands

Really will be more nowcasting from Tuesday onwards, possible fun week ahead

West of region looks like missing out. Models showing it turning to snow just a few miles to my south and east.

Oh well. At least this time I know in advance that I’m likely to miss out.

Onto Thursday instead

Yes. My point exactly. I am East of but I suspect too far north of Brum. As I say, I will not get excited til I see it. Had enough false starts already, this winter hahaha

Jo Farrow just posted this in the London and SE thread saying it's still in the uncertainty area with MO at the

The warning area is going to be adjusted as we get closer.

A good time to remind ourselves that a warning is not a forecast.

Very windy today. Seems like a long time since I last heard the wind battering the windows with all the high pressure that's been hanging around recently.

We are still too far out to nail anything down on this scenario, that channel low could do anything as its still in the Atlantic currently.

South and Eastern parts of the midlands should see disruptive snow, northern and western area's is still a big question mark over what the top of the system brings.

Still early to call Tuesday!  Remember warning area boundaries get updates more often than not closer to time so could all change yet!  (Including Burbage moving out of the warning zone ☹️☹️).

I'm just inside the warning area, and the MetO not-a-forecast has been consistently showing snow here Tues/Weds since last night.  But at the moment the idea of snow on the ground come Weds morning is something I consider only a possibility, with the Cotswolds at greater risk.   We may yet even see nothing at all!

It really dosnt matter where the warning area is atm it will change a fair bit between now and the potential snow in question

Just not at all confident for snow here. The cold air doesn’t look like cutting in quickly enough up here.

Had that system been further south, there would be a greater risk of snow showers here. Instead, it cuts them off.

Ay, SE of region pasting, 10cms or so, for NW of the region, chance of hour or so back edge wet snow, could give a dusting if heavy enough, GFS 06Z, certainly possible snow

Keeping an open mind on this 1, but Tuesday has trended poorly for anyone north or west of Birmingham. Back edge wet snow that leaves puddles is nothing to be excited about.

On to Thursday I think.

We just can’t get things to fall our way this year.
