Tbh yeah they have fizzled a bit but there’s more building in the sea so you never no, I think we will get some just hope they don’t all fizzle as they get closer. Time will tell

Well i think seeing is believing, so it's the UK, the glass will always be half full because forecasts are so inaccurate and change hourly.

Soon as I saw the direction that huge shower was travelling in and how things looked upstream, the writing was on the wall. There are far more disappointing Cheshire gap effects than amazing ones. However, the irish sea isn't completely dead...keep your eyes on the coast between Liverpool and Preston. That's where anything will come from us.

North Westerlies don’t normally let me down. It’s funny watching the showers move SSE in a WNW wind.

METO weather symbols are automated. There's no human input. Imagine if they had to pay individual employees to update manually every single town or city.

Seen several great snowfalls here in a north westerly. Just gone wrong this time, for some reason. Could understand if the wind was NNW, but it isn’t.

Upper winds are NNW at cloud level, we need them NW, anyway didn't expect much other than a few flurries tonight, it's getting milder Thursday, so excitement was fairly low due to thaw

Matt it's 8pm, the air is cold enough for snow to lower levels. The Irish sea is alive, give it time

Unfortunately my old mucca convection is low and winds light through the Irish Sea so whilst they will continue to form due to sea and land temps differential they won’t have much legs to gain or sustain across land some sweet spots will enjoy a couple of cms the majority will miss out

Still light snow falling here. The wind direction is perfect now for streamers.

Most models runs are very promising Matt. Still the 22nd of January, February can deliver. Surface wind direction just changed to NNW but winds won't pick up because the anticyclonic conditions are way too close of UK. You might get some PPN later tonight at Stoke though.
