Welsh Mountains have/are absorbing this event up, needs a more north westerly movement on those showers for anything slightly substantial to fall.

The race is on.

Im having the glass replaced in some of my windows today, and the fitters have just started on the last 2.

Will there be snow on my sofa before the day is done...?

OH just text from work up the road and asked what was going on as gritters out in force. I told him no panic, we shall have rain which may well freeze.

He's just Notts side of Notts/Leics border. Home is just Leics side.

Giving up on this one hope others have better luck. The skies are black and its raining. Met are terrible at such a short time frame.

Raining here nearly 200m up. I can see in the distance a distinct area of snow falling across Wolverhampton, so I think it's likely that any precipitation, at least during the day, will need to be pretty heavy to drag down the snow.

Steady rain in Rugeley, not even a wintry element. Need to stay dry today and hope tonight brings something better. Either that or there will be nothing but puddles to look at through the window. 90m ASL here though so low expectations.

It’s only 1pm. It’s later this afternoon/evening and through tonight that the fun starts.

Clear precipitation here, temp 3.3C, so no surprise really. Tell a lie just to sleet.

Indeed, if you run through the Euro 4 MAPS they only show steadily accumulating from 6PM this evening, ahhh is when it’s dark.

Low expectations though, I’ve seen enough NW episodes to realise you can flip a coin between a decent event and loads of puddles.
