Frustrating watching the Welsh mountains kill all the showers before they reach here. Need the wind to have more of a northerly component to it, which is should do this afternoon.

Just had a weather alert saying METO warning for ice from 4pm.

Sunny here at the moment.

Dew points are rising its going to be marginal but that gives you the heaviest snow.

the ppn is definitely moving in a Eastlerly direction if not NE, when does it start to swing and move in a South easterly???

In a few hours. Probably after the trough has passed.

Precipitation accumulation chart from the Euro, to give an idea of where most precipitation (Snow?) may fall. Looks like I'm under the highest total (14 mm). So difficult to pinpoint Stoke on these charts though.

About 2-3mm ppn here going on that chart. Rain I guess.

Showers finally getting past the Welsh Mountains, probably thanks to the trough, and some are actually getting more intense as they approach me. Could be interesting.

Just noticed a few spots on windscreen, very light but gone dark towards the North

A covering of snow from a decent heavy snow shower wind light west/SW settled easily very icy first thing.

Less wind less thawing today 1c.

Showers dying as they traverse east. Although being in a trough, they could pick up in strength with any land interaction. (ie. hills, mountains etc.)
