Midlands was a real sweet spot last winter

Specially those of us who got the single biggest snowfall I've ever witnessed on Friday 8th Dec 2017 from the NWerly Cheshire Streamer, seemingly ALL of which landed on our street, and then got re-buried on the Sunday 10th from the SW... iirc that was 27cm in three days but most of it was on the Friday, just incredible. Literal blizzard conditions in a kind of Canadian sort of way!

I've got one eye on he lamp-post already!

Definitely and hopefully if we see a stronger easterly or north easterly wind we should see more showers push inland than compared to the BFTE last year!

Seem to remember that December 2017 was a good month for the Midlands.

I think the outlook looks very promising for the Midlands.

Generally colder with increasing risk of snow for the UK as a whole. Coldest in the north, with the south most at risk of seeing milder interludes. Could mean slider lows and battleground snow, with the Midlands potentially being the battleground.

Yes, it's the windiest day since last January here too. A gust of 71 mph about an hour ago at 340 mts.

Well the colder weather should start to arrive later  bringing in  a phase of below average temps.  Rather to my surprise from Saturday  temps( according to the Met)  are only just above 0c during the day. 1-2c   with winds making it feel between -2 -5   we will certainly feel it.   Edit   also he Euro 4 charts and Hirlam Arpege  bring something a little wintry through the spine of the country.  not a alot but is probably why the met have issued a ice warning
