Just rain here, but the dew point is -2.9'c so you'd think it'd be at least sleet.

Maybe it's freezing rain, but it's too early to tell?

Absolutely no way can this be wintry, how did anyone expect it to be, upper air temps over 5C

I'm not surprised, it's just the local forecast was to initially start as light snow then sleet, but there was nothing, but the actual air temp has continued to drop over the last hour or so.

Ive been out and about it's just rain, so glad that freezing rain didn't happen here, but God it feels so cold in the rain here, no snow anywhere in the Midlands it seems.

On the Net weather Snow app its showing all rain, but in the last 30mins all so, its starting to show snow in the North on our region :cold:

Arpege and euro4 got this completely wrong. Looking at other regional threads cant see much snow anywhere. Complete non event.

Hopefully in 9 to 10 days time things are and could be very different

Nothing but cold rain, temp started rising well before the front arrived as often seems to happen with W/E battlegrounds nowadays. 0C at 9pm, 2C at 9am, no chance of snow or freezing rain if it keeps doing that.

Horrible day...and anyone who doesn't follow the weather wouldn't see it any different to any other wet day we've had so far this Autumn.

Lots and lots of examples of the what's happened today to compare to in the past. Typical winters day in the West Midlands. The forecasts were near the mark for today though.

2018 has been a brilliant year for weather and it's a shame the final month is all a bit typical so far. But won't let it detract from what has overall, been a really decent year.

Wind really starting to pick up out there now and the rain becoming really quite heavy...and still a lot more rain to come. One of those situations where we'll probably record today's highest temperature overnight. So something a little different there I suppose.

I never seriously expected accumulations today or anything but I did think there was a fair chance of at least sleet or even snowfall. Unfortunately it's just been cold rain.
