Hi fellow Midlanders heard in the grapevine theres a chance we might see a snowflake in the next few days. So back for the winter rollercoaster. Hope we are all blessed with 2ft of snow and freezing fog that paints a perfect Christmas card. Today is quite beautiful crisp, cold and sunny. Gd luck all.

The Met Office going for the possibility of sleet showers to low levels tomorrow for the West Midlands. ☺️❄️

May not be all that exciting, but sleet still better than gloomy rain (personally). And maybe a slight chance if there was a torrential or prolonged shower, could transition more into wet/very wet snow. Still going to be marginal unless on a hill, but maybe some could be in for a surprise.

A dull and chilly day with frequent showers of sleet and the temperature hovering between 2.6 and 3.0c for most of the time.

That looks like my cue to re-emerge for the season... ☃️

Welcome back, Fizz!

Let’s hope the snow shields in here get totally wiped out throughout Winter - especially the Solihull one!

More cold rain. Snow being reported in places down south (even Isle of Wight), so no reason why it shouldn't up here, providing we get precipitation and the coldest air together. Uppers are obviously just cold enough (though could do with being colder), but can we get the coldest temps/DPs to go northwest? Presumably they are down there because of shorter sea crossing. There's no sea in the way between SE England and here, so no reason why it should warm up if it heads the right way....

Sleet to Snow in Edgbaston. Snowflakes clearly visible, this prevents a snowless November and and makes it a total of 2 days of snowfall so far this Winter season.

Yep ..

You two beat me to it.

Sleet now visible as blobs on the car windscreen, but no flakes here yet.

Been raining for about 30 minutes. Started with a temp of 2.0C, then rose to 2.9C now dropping to 2.7C with the dew point still down at 2.1C.

Just sleet as you say, but if it continues...….      you can never tell. (and with that it starts to brighten up!)

MIA

The first snow cover of the winter here early this morning with 0.5cm around 0400. It had all thawed by 0800 at this level but at 0900 there was still  a partial cover at 350 m.
