Yeah, think the Met Office predicted rain last night with a chance it could have been thundery.

However, just dull and drizzly here. Low quality weather (although I guess the plants did need some rain).

Temperature of 13.5*C, so fairly cool.

All the forecasts got it badly wrong last night, they all expected that to die out.

Heaviest rain since the severe thunderstorms the other week.

Very wet here last night with much needed rain.First decent amount for best part of a month as we missed every storm over the last few weeks.Weekend weather looking very good too.

bring on next weeks westerlies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This. Sick and tired of the endless cloud. Easterlies can be great but far too often they result in mucky nothingness.

Yep...

I too am seeing very little sun.

It cleared yesterday at about 1700 and that led to quite a cold night.

Sun just trying to break through the cloud now.

MIA

lifted gradually at around 1pm, looks like sea mist returning tomorrow and monday, then shouldn't see it again until April, good riddance to the filth

Would love it if it didn’t even come back next April!

The only times I don’t mind an easterly of sorts is mid winter bringing snow and drifting and a hot south easterly in summer! Other than that I’d have a westerly over it any day

Was meant to be sunny from morning here today but still cloudy. Can't wait for this easterly to go.

was vile, lifted fully around 1pm, worst thing about the sea mist is, for some reason forecasts continue to say 'misty on east coast' do they never learn

A heavy shower here at the moment with real thunderstorm rain at times but no thunder heard, or lightning seen.

Just 14.8 mm of rain here in the first half of June, the driest first half since 2006 when 7.1mm was recorded. Driest of all, back to 1977, was in 2004 with 6.3 mm in the first half.

14.8 mm is 36% of the 30 year average  for the first half of June

High TM..

Had a heavy shower here about 17:00 form nowhere.

That had 2.3 mms. Making a grand total of 11.4mms so far this month.

Certainly prospects of a low month in offing.

MIA.

The afternoon showers missed us completely with heavy showers just to the north and south of here; 7 to 9 mm in the Buxton area and more than that in the far north of Derbyshire. Recent GFS runs have been  indicating a dry second half of June so, as you say, a dry month is looking likely.

The driest June on record here ( since 1977) was in 1983 with 16.4mm so it would have to very dry in the next couple of weeks to beat that.
