On this day 1975. Walking back to school after going home for dinner. ....in the snow.

lol that really is extraordinary. I've seen pictures of the infamous 'Snow Stopped Play' cricket match at Buxton from around that time, Derbyshire versus Lancashire I believe.

Do we know if anything similar has happened since 1975?

the only other latish snowfall I can remember was one evening  mid May 1985. I was studying for my finals and lived high up in a block of flats next to Hanley park.  It had been raining steadily & surprisingly it turned to snow for an hour or so.  The park trees were in full blossom (mainly pink) and the snow stuck on the grass. Combined with the heavy grey colour of the wet paths it really was a pretty sight  from my elevation . If only I'd had a camera!

A lot less humid than the last two days but nothing else to report here... just these greyish/white skies all day!

Gave about 20 minutes of light to moderate rain here (5 miles north of Shrewsbury)- the bright echoes seemed to pass south of here

Grey but bright and warm this morning. Allegedly we might get a storm today, but I won't hold my breath. Enjoying the nice weather but sometimes it's nice to have a rain day!

Looks like it's make the most of today, as the met and beeb say lovely mirk, cloud and NE breeze back all day tomorrow and Tuesday, we shall see. Warm, sunny spells here, after a clear start, temp, 20.7C.

Hi all. Really heavy shower here at the moment in WS3. Water gushing down the road, similar to last weeks when we had floods. I trust this wont be sticking around though!

Not had much in the way of heavy rain in my location, seems to skirt  around either side.

Mind you, i do have part of my foof off at present so it can stay away until the builders have finished

Well contrary to forecasts, the day has started with clear skies and sunshine. Hope it stays around, but I suppose there's still time for the low cloud to move in.

Hate to tell you then that the cloud has broken and it's mostly sunny again!
