It's disappeared again now though, Dancer! We had a bit of weak sunshine a short while ago, but it's clouded over again :nonono:

That storm down south, such as it was, seems to be fizzlling away already, so i'd be surprised if anything much kicks off today.

So far no signs of any storms, anywhere.

Hopefully the Midlands may see some action later to make up for yesterday which produced a few drops of rain for all of about a minute and no storms at all

not in this part of the midlands, nothing more than 2.5 seconds of rain, sky went dark, heard a few very distant rumbles ( although that could have been east midlands airport just down the road) thena  few drops of rain, before the sun came out

I can't measure the rainfall levels here, but it was very severe, torrential, with frequent thunder and lightening, and alot of places were flooded, but it wasn't sunny, just bright though very warm humid. Current temp here is 22.3C and partly cloudy with light winds, storms are not forecast from the metoffice or bbc, but you never know, like yesterday was never supposed to be quite as bad as it was, when the amber warning from the metoffice was almost a "now" forecast.

What a difference 40 miles make.Glourious Blue skies and warm Sunshine in South Cheshire.

Also Missed all the storm activity yesterday had about 10 Minutes of Rain which struggled to even wet the ground.

C.S

got the storm here, and flooding, but the usual setup where the W Midlands does the best, same with the snow

luckily last few years just been on the edge of the decent stuff (snow&storms) where as areas further NW towards Stoke don't do very well

Glorious for some today, for others this darn cloud threated to clear but never really did, popped out earlier and even though it was cloudy it felt quite humid....☁️

Still much interest this forthcoming week for thunderstorms Weds/Thurs is very likely.

Been very hot this afternoon but cooling down now. I have noticed here on the Leicestershire Wolds that we often have a breeze, even on very hot days, so far. Often an ESE as the weathervain shows.

I don't know if  that is normal here. Going to have to get used to the prevailing winds and such.

Murkey and breezy with overcast skies this morning. Personally not a lover of excessive heat so glad it's on the cooler side.

There is one of these wind turbine windmills about a mile outside of the village, clearly visible from the bedroom window on clear days. Windmill not viable today.

Looks like the SE are really on the receiving end this morning.

At least we've got a bit of hazy sunshine here today, better than nothing. Currently 18.8°C with a dp of 14.3°C

Wonder if the nasty looking storms to the south east, will get this far north?

The direction they're moving in  would give us a direct hit.

However the speed at which they're moving makes it doubtful we'll see something.

But never say never, once the storms on Sunday finally left our area, they did start getting a shift on. And areas of storms, even though slow moving, have been known to expand rapidly ahead of them.

So my verdict is unlikely but not impossible for today.

Looking to me as if it is heading towards the Worcester area.

More southern parts of the Central areas may get a storm.

Although loving storms, I just hope they miss the already flooded areas.

I  am of the opinion that they will get heavier in the next 3 - 4 hours. Already reports of flash flooding are coming from SE London around the Medway Tunnels and the like.

Interesting afternoon ahead!

Agreed, this region needs a brief pause in the rainfall so the current excess can drain away. I took a walk around Hockley Heath earlier this morning, and noticed plenty of large patches of floodwater in the surrounding fields.

Doesn’t look to be that far from us either....but as we know from the weekend just few miles can make all the difference
