Very distant boom, like a low rumble but only occasionally. That must be the ones by Cannock.

Temp and humidity feels a bit fresher now though.

It's been quite an afternoon here.

The whole lot is everso slightly nudging north as well as tracking northwest. I think it's very likely you'll see something.

Can't dispute that the last 6 months have been fantastic for weather. 

December finally delivered deep snow in Shrewsbury

Crazy April that had one of the dankest, dullest, dreariest first halves of any spring month I remember, then one of the sunniest, warmest second halves

May has been basically May 1992 without the crap first 10-12 days that month had. Even matched it with a thundery bank holiday at the end.

Agreed with this, its been a great few months even with that dull weather producing one of the most depressing weeks of weather I can remember. If it continues in this manner 2018 will be a great year!

Wow, been constant rumbling here for the last hour and a half, rain eased off now, but constant rumble still on the go. There was a clap about 7 this morning that shook the house! Impressive stuff, what a year 2018 has become, this will be in memory for a long time

It's forecasted to be affecting the more northern parts of the region during the evening and into the night. I think we'll see a very slow shift north over the next few hours. You're in for a treat if it does.

Just had a good flash and loud thunder clap here. It's getting much darker too.

Saw some amazing thunderstorms in June and September 2016 here, but very little storm action since then.

A cracking lightning display over my home town of Harrow, North London last night.

If it's any help to people in Staffordshire, the majority of the lightning was on the southern side of the hill here in Upper Gornal, there's definietly more coming from the northern side now.  I think it is very slowly edging your way as well as tracking northwest.

Reports of lots of roads closed around selly oak and Harborne, and some problems on the m5 with flooding

Could hear the distant booms to the east/NE also a thundery shower developed close by to the NE a dry shower.

Went very still and murkey with mist/patchy low cloud and an eerie look before and dark followed by yellow brightness to the SE not seen nothing like it before.

After last night's very impressive show here, Bewdley is just south of the band this time. I can hear rumbles to the NE, but it's completely dry here.

feels warmer here, E'ly wind suddenly gone, ans is very light SSW'ly

This wouldn’t surprise me, in the time I was writing my post on the previous page about the storm in Birmingham and worrying about others getting flooded, my kitchen was getting flooded!!

Stafford completely dry just south of Penkridge torrential flooding rains. Sky going dark in Stafford now though hopefully I won't need to water the garden tonight

I think the word you're looking for is 'incoming'!

No doubt about the slow shift from south to north I've noticed around the hill here. Also notice how there's more strikes being picked up near Penkridge and Gnosall.

I'd start getting excited if I were you.

Plenty of flash flooding in prone areas of Birmingham it seems. Usual spots of Selly Oak, Northfield, Harbourne etc.
