My 4th ever photo to get Editor's Pick on the BBC Weather Watchers site. My photo of mammatus from this morning.

Have to keep an eye out on the regional TV weather forecasts.

Warmest day of the year here at 16.0 °C! Some afternoon sunshine made it feel really very pleasant -- I was actually uncomfortably warm walking briskly with a jacket on.

I also felt uncomfortably warm when walking to the local shops.

DRL..

Beat me too it.

Temp still too low though, I think at 8.1C.Humidity at 95%.

I feel that we need a bit of sun to spark something off.

The darkest clouds are moving just to the West of us and up from the SSW, so people around Bham could get lucky.

Was thinking the same. Having higher temperatures would help, but I must admit I’m doubtful anything much will occur/develop.

Heavy rain earlier still got 1 decent size snowdrift left.

Certainly looks about 50 miles further west than forecast yesterday.

Yesterday was vile and today looks the same here in Birmingham. The fog hasn't lifted for 24 hours. Meanwhile further north its been dull in Stoke but no where near as made as the smoggy look here.

Thick fog all morning, a brief heavy shower which lifted the fog but it has now descended on Birmingham again. Horrific weather.

This has to be one of the most depressing aprils I've ever known in all my 40 years.

Hard to believe we're in for a heatwave next week

Once again I leave the Midlands into Staffs and the fog has lifted. still dull but no where near as hideous as south and not damp either.

Oh God yes, so depressing. I've had a major case of the cantbearseditis and have done nothing productive all week. Going to the cinema tomorrow to watch Ghost Stories to cheer myself up.

BBC East Midlands text forecast for tomorrow (Saturday): “Early patches of mist, fog and low cloud will clear to leave a much milder day with some sunshine at times. However, there will be the risk of the odd heavy shower or thunderstorm forming later on.“

First time this year I’ve seen thunderstorms being mentioned.

What a contrast to the week just passed. Beautiful day, pleasant in the sun and feeling warm. Time for the garden to finally dry out!

Thought it was just a shower risk or is it more significant?
