Think the BBCs weather for here in Hinckley is well wide of the mark. Heavy snow showers all day. I don't think so

Lol, just thinking the same. The model data used is probably already out of date maybe?

Heavy snow all day?

not bad covering here this morning though.

Think we missed the overnight stuff. Not a bad event but it seems that the heavy stuff to our east on the radar was just losing intensity as it hit us.

Staying indoors today! A decent snowfall overnight. Very cold this morning, the fire in the front room was still glowing when I got up this morning so chucked a few more logs on and decided I'm staying put. BBC Forecast got snow all day but I'm not sure about that!

Not even venturing out to the Leicester v Chelsea game this afternoon - already decided to not get tickets and watch on tv - this weather makes that look a good decision!

I hit the sack about 12:30, doesn't look any different to them.

BBC and Met are complete opposite looking at the Radar I would say the Met are going to be right with a cold dry day with sunny periods. Rapid thaw now but still 4th major fall of snow so can't complain.

Deepest snow of winter (or should that be Spring) here. A good 10cm at least but drifting higher.

There is a really rapid melt though now despite the sun not being out and light snow falling which is frustrating

Sadly temperatures are rising here, probably end up around 1/2c this afternoon I reacon.

A quick glace at radar this morning suggests to me that snow showers are in store for us late afternoon.  Also models have a feature that darts across Southern counties later on. The northern extent of that appears to just about touching distance of Birmingham ? :)

A good 8+cm covering here overnight with drifting again. For the 4th time this winter we've been snowed in again. The very helpful farmer has been and cleared the lane but some of the drifts are reforming.

Like last time, the snow is whistling off the fields almost leaving them bare and billowing into drifts in the dips and hollows, one being the 200m track to the lane!

Thankfully it's stopped snowing. A slight thaw looks to setting in as well.

Just been out, maybe 4" was overestimating the fall here, nearer to 9 or 10 cm's, also noticed a few flakes coming down again, seem to be building back west from here, looking a the radar, having just said that it just almost disappeared.

Gotta be realistic now, i think this event has run out of energy for the mids, unless someone has a magic wand that, is and can create something out of nothing.

Same here, doesn't make it looks so pretty with the black tarmac versus the snow on the grass. Better for driving mind, but I hadn't expected such a large melt rate. At times overnight the showers were very intense causing whiteout conditions.
