I'd be happy just seeing some snow. I'm in the Amber warning area though. 5-10 cm would be one of the largest snowfalls of the winter here.

Amber warning out for West Midlands Sat-Sun

Snow and Ice.  Wonder what will make this truly requiring Amber?

Seems like they're pretty confident of it too rather than it just being an amber for the disruption.

Interesting times ahead, could be in for our biggest fall of winter so far here. Even better is how muggy it feels today, nearly t-shirt in the sun yet tomorrow will drop a good 10 degrees plus wind-chill! Reminds me of the USA with wild temp swings in Spring.

So back here again. Would be nice to get a little bit of snow here in Leicestershire as it seemed to mostly pass us by last time. No real places to go this weekend so can just enjoy the snowfall (if it comes!)

Hit almost 14c today, with a slight breeze out there it's been very pleasant in that sunshine 8)

Then it's all change!!! With cold air/winds ariving from the east overnight..... IMBY it'll be a scenario of 14c today to a max of -0C come tomorrow and a wind chill of -10

One thing that intrigues me with this is that normally temperatures gradually drop over a couple of days.....Not this time....IT'LL BE A SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM...I will say  :cold:

Looks like we will get a decent covering from the showers on Saturday but be to far North on Sunday. Some areas could do ok Stoke look to be in the perfect position and maybe the south Mids depending on the progress North of that front. Amazing no short term PPN model agree with eachother. Has me down for 2 to 3cm I would take that as bonus snow after a great winter. Good luck all  again. Expect surprises. :cold:

The Snow word :) For now a band of rain will arrive in the early hours from the northeast and very quickly turn to snow overnight as that cold air digs in   :cold:

As for the rest of the weekend these steamers seem to make they own mind up....Radar watching methinks....Cant believe I'm saying this for the 17th/18th March :yahoo:

Met office fax charts shows a streamer out in the north sea for 12pm tomorrow, incoming for the afternoon methinks in them strong gusty easterly winds

I just think that they are just hedging their bets with this, as these things can either expand or shrink in size
and move a few miles north or south. I'll be surprised if more than a cm or so falls here, but, you never know it might have a surprise
or two up it's sleeve. Also the temp reached 15C here today.

The BBC forecast for Wolverhampton says just some light snow till 8.00am and that's it all weekend, then just light cloud and breezy, bit of a joke really.

The Met-Office site isn't much better for snowfall, the warnings are just for the drop in temperature really here, nothing else.

After a benign, spring like afternoon there's just been a short heavy shower with hail.
