Western Europe as far as mid way East through Poland still remarkably clear of snow. Hopefully that will change soon.

Greece has done so well this month. My hometown has a two week old snow cover. It is starting to warm up a bit now though.

Heavy snowstorm hits slightly further north than expected. New York spared. States of emergency declared for New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Ohio. Brutal cold expected to follow.

A big increase for Holland, Belgium and into parts of France. Slight increase for the UK.

A few more gains for the UK at a local level but it's France where the biggest gains appear to be

 UK and Ireland interesting to see. Also note the northern half of the Gulf of Bothnia should freeze up much readily now.  This is the 22nd.

A pretty picture for the snow cover of Europe just a shame about all the green blobs for us even after the snow showers. This snapshot is for Thursday 24th so more green blobs will shine through when it updates later, fingers crossed that early next week sees it change for the better
