Same here, probably because the websites SSL certificate has expired.

It's still the same problem I explained a few pages back.  NOAA have misconfigured their server and are not sending the chain of intermediate certificates needed to establish a chain of trust back to a mutually trusted root certificate.

This is the link that I use https://www.natice.noaa.gov/ims/ and I have no problems. I use Firefox Mozilla.

I use firefox, too. I think I had authorize an override for a cautionary security advice/trusted site notice after I cleared out cookies and it's just gone straight through since then.

Another small extent increase yesterday, just 43k and almost on par with 2017 (3rd lowest) once more. 2nd lowest sea ice coverage would require the slowdown lasting at least another 10 days or so, so that's that too likely at the moment.

Re the above

I am getting the problem with Edge, standard Windows and Google,

Microsoft gives a standard message and invites you to continue (at your own risk).

Google gives a bit more info . but ends with the message that there could be a privacy error on this site, and says that they can not guarantee that the site you are trying to access is indeed the site it states.

It still gives an option to continue.

It is clear that something is wrong with the sites security as Unixmaven has already described. It is only a small(though annoying) problem.

I am just ignoring it.

There's been another early advance of snow in North America. A bit more is expected in a few days, with heavy falls for Eastern Canada/New England. Hudson Bay has started freezing over a few days early. This should speed it up a bit. The Great Lakes are looking good for freezing early, too. The larger lakes are colder than average and the smaller lakes should catch them up a bit with this weather.

Although Great Lakes temperatures are amongst the coldest in recent years (give more regard to central lake temperatures) and some of those years have produced high ice levels, this forecast shows an average ice outlook as El Nino is expected to lead to a mild winter after the recent cold autumn. But will El Nino turn up?

The frigid air mass sitting strong anomalously over Siberia/mid Russia and northern Kazakhstan really starting to intensify and spread south now;

This will help start to extend the snow cover south and west I feel. If the current models are correct, that cold and snow could spread far wester into northern and western Europe in the weeks to come.

Today's forecasts says widespread snow for Texas and northern Mexico. It looks like Canada is now completely snow covered.

Snow has made it to some Mexican mountains. Accumulations of 6-8 inches in North Texas are half a year's average in some cases.

https://climatereanalyzer.org/wx/DailySummary/#seaice-snowc-topo

Temperatures are nearly 20C below average over parts of Texas, Oklahoma and Missouri which is close to record seasonal lows. This exceptional cold snap over most of North America will accelerate the early freeze up already predicted for Hudson Bay and the Great Lakes.

After a slow start to the snow cover season over Eurasia, its good too see things really accelerated well here, certainly took it time!

The USA/Canada has experienced a colder than normal Autumn, certainly rare these days. Hudson Bay could well freeze over quicker than some years indeed, certainly going to be quite a lot of cold air and favourable winds which will spread the ice indeed.

Very interesting. This also may be why the jet stream is well to the south and could implicate things over this side during next week.

Worth noting that Texas and the Gulf of Mexico regions were repeatedly noted having a very cold winter in 1963 aswell, of course happening at the same time Britain experienced that historically cold winter.
