The No Rain Club (aka - When did you last have rain?)

Since the last May thunderstorms. We’ve had little rain in London since the start of June. Only a shower a week ago, but not much.

Ground is very dry, and I think this is the driest summer spell for about 4 or 5 years. A two day spell of rain wouldn’t go a miss, but I’m enjoy these long sunny days.

Can’t forget how depressing the spring and winter was with all that cloud, damp and cold.

Since we had a thundery shower (back end of May) nothing but enough drizzly stuff to dirty the windows.

We have one for snow and rain is fast becoming as rare as hens teeth!

When will we next see rain? Let's get over excited about some blue blobs showing at +316 on the GFS!

I hate being in the No Storms Club or No Snow Club, but Iove being in the No Rain Club! I hope it stays that way for the next 3 months.

Well, having put out a grass fire we came across on a ride yesterday, and having ridden past endless yellow verges on the way from Manchester to Blackpool today, I can say that the NW needs rain over anything else. Saddleworth and Winter Hill are both still smoldering.

I'm loving the heat but could do with a few downpours for the garden.

Haven't had rain since circa 20th June.

The heat can do one now, we've had days and days of it, more than us snowies ever get snow in winter. It's getting to the point it's draining me so badly i'm sleeping 9 hrs straight and I never do that in comfortable temperatures.

can't believe no thundery breakdown, either.

Last time it rained here was 16th June, and that was only 1mm, we have had 12 days of rain since 28th April and 10 of those were less than 1mm, on the 25th May had 2mm.  Had only 15mm in 74 days

We had a very brief sprinkle this morning, just spitting very lightly for a minute or so. All evaporated 5 minutes later.

Nearing on 3 weeks without rain here, can;t remember the last day possibly 20 June. Rare to go such a long time without rain, in the wettest part of England. Alas, we may see some come Thursday and Friday - localised downpours possible. Early next week could bring our first frontal rain for nearly a month.

Looking ever likely that this remarkable spell of dry weather is drawing to a close for many.

Up to 43 days and counting without any rain here, not sure what the all time record in Cambridge is, but this is going to be up there!

I've never seen the lawns and verges so parched

Our last measurable rain here was 1.25mm on June 16th.

Our last significant rain event was 22.75mm way back on May 27th.

Looks like this Friday may finally break the deadlock..........?
