Where was it and why didn't you like it?

Faliraki. It was an absolute *hit-pit! Beirut in the 80's would have been a nicer destination.

Tenerife, South coast.

If I wanted British food and bars galore, I'd have stayed in England. Constant pestering by sales reps and just hotels everywhere. Granted it wasn't my choice, but definitely put me off.

Never understand the mentality of going abroad to be surrounded by British stuff. Might as well just stay home in a heatwave.

Hated it. Never have I been made to feel so uncomfortable in my entire life. I'm sure it's lovely and I was just unlucky but will never go back.

When we went to Tenerife, we found a bar/restaurant that specialised in Spanish food. The food was gastronomical - the credit card bill was astronomical!

I went to Tenerife last year, Playa de Las Americas to be exact. I found my experience quite the opposite, and we found a bunch of cheap, but quality places to eat (and Spanish stuff too, not just English)! What part did you go?

Cochin and Chanai in India. Filthy places. Thing that amazed me was how clean most of the people were. How they tolerated such condition amazes me. Seemed to be a policy of chuck it away and it will take care of it’s self. Just as bad as some of the filthy illegitimate mentally deficient people that dump and pollute this country.

Italy, I went there many years ago for a plane-spotting holiday back in the teen days when I was a avgeek and everything was fine through France, Germany, Austria, but the second I crossed into Italy the authorities seem to have a dim-view of anyone wanting to watch aircraft landing or take-off from outside the perimeter at Pisa and Rome. It was only another week later going back through France and spending a unexpected longer stay at Paris CDG did I appreciate the more lax attitude towards spotters.

I can understand why they'd be more restrained against spotting, but it seems there's a vast difference in attitudes depending on which countries you go to and it's hard to make them see that despite their prejudices plane-spotters are only more beneficial than a nuisance as Manchester Airport and Paris CDG shows. So for that reason I loathe Italy and seen all the usual tourist places anyway when I was killing 3 weeks having to find other things to do.

See Italy is just amazing for me. One of my favourite places in the world. You'd receive a similar attitude trying to spot in Greece too to be fair.

Yes, i've had the joys of Tenerife and spain. Both as you say, constant pestering of reps and touts, even sitting by the pool wasn't safe. My friend loved it and thought it was funny. The tour of the volcano was cool but the trip to the water park was pants, the coach never showed.

First place i burnt my shoulders too and i never used to burn.

I love Zakynthos (Zante) and have had  5 holidays to the small resort of Alykes but I made mistake of going to laganas one evening.

What a complete hell hole, full of 20s years olds getting drunk on cheap booze, vomiting and taking laughing gas for fun.

I lasted an hour, before getting a taxi out as fast as I could. Never again will I go to that resort.

Went with parents in 2008 and with a boyfriend in 2009 and he kept saying he was going to leave. 10 years later he's still there
