Interesting shape to the cloud over East Anglia, feeding off the North Sea/to the east and keeping the storm strong?

The drought is well and truly broken...deluge, and some good T&L with it.

You can normally see all the landmarks on the London webcam..Sr Pauls, Shard etc

It's a blur at the moment with the rain

Edit: Clearing now but those trees in the foreground could not be seen

If I was being picky... the TAF (Terminal Area Forecast) is showing storms into the night, the METAR is the actual conditions at the time of the report, usually updated every 30 minutes or more frequently if special conditions are reached: That's called a METAR SPECI. (60 degree change in wind, 10kts change in wind, CB in vicinity, etc etc will get a METAR SPECI produced)

Sorry to pick up on it, I've just finished the Airline Transport Pilot License exams so am being particularly specific

Oh congrats! Dream career for me!

Everyone in the drought zone dont give up hope

Encouraging signs on the latest radar scans

The line going through London is going to link to the stuff coming out of France and will sweep more NNE in the next few hours as forcing arrives further east

8-10pm will be my guess for the dry zones

Quite right. Also it is only a prop 30 for thunderstorms for John Lennon but better than nothing.

Thanks - we need it!

EDIT - could you post this on the regional thread, please - us far eastern members think we've been ignored!

everyone's forgotten about the drought zone along the M4 corridor....rainfall is a once in a generation thing here, and thunderstorms are now nothing but a mythical beast...lol

Winds have drastically picked up over the last hour or so, don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing

Here on Merseyside we are sandwiched between thunderstorms and heavy rain going up the country on either side. It's so clammy a and horrible...........and I'm starving but too hot to put the oven on 😎
