More distant thunder. Good old polar Maritime. Almost always delivers here.

Sun is back out to add more juice.

Been following it on radar: as you say, an intense and not forecasted storm.

Was bang under it, not as intense just a sharp shower and a rumble of thunder

Didn’t look intense at all really on the radar.

Picturesque cloudscapes here as the showers have passed through. Only one direct hit though with a few rumbles earlier on.

had 3 separate storms cells here today , one over head with frequent thunder every few seconds, not much lightning visible though I did see a few intracloud flashes,   if only it was night

T&L in gloucester currently. Mainly sheet lightening but thunder very close. Chucking it down and all. Bonus, wasn't expecting anything today!

you've got what we had an hour ago

Very disappointed about last night. Storms were rather weak and non-existent and the cloud hanging around spoilt any chance to see the eclipse. Err!

Oh, I hope you're right. Sitting outside with a nice warm bbq coal fire to keep warm

I can see the edge of the weakening cell that passed Peterborough earlier.  It isn't that impressive, but it's more substantial than the other clouds in the same view.

Looks like that’s it for me now. On to tomorrow then which holds similar promise after the front has cleared. flow mor SSW rather than SW.

Its quite incredible how we still havn't had a single thunderstorm or even a thundery shower in whole of 2018!

yesterday all the storms were east and west of us, today they were all north and south...we had a brief 2 min rain shower today and yesterday...there were some lovely cloudscapes though but the storms were too far away for anything to be seen or heard or felt...Cheshire must be the only place that hasn't had thundery weather this summer i bet

Gusts of wind and heavy rain once again, there doesn't seem to be any electric left though

I have posted this in the Scotland thread but I will share in this thread too, my videos of the storm last night

BEST PART WITH CLOSE LIGHTNING AND LOUD THUNDER AT THE START 0:08 for the lightning 0:20 for the thunder, 1:05 for the mental rain with more lightning and loud thunder
