Definitely the best storm I've seen since August 2012, it was almost like night. It passed just to the east of Hedon but fortunately I'm not at home and actually right under it.

Where are you atm?

E Kent now. Pics I posted earlier were as we were approaching M20 J10. Through the rear side of the storm now - was a peach. Definitely some severe elements in there, including very strong wind gusts on the leading edge.

OK Giving up on this evening now. Maybe another chance tomorrow afternoon although no doubt there’ll be too much westerly component in the flow by then. Reading this thread is agonising as usual.

Was right under the East Yorkshire storm, just outside Pocklington. It was amazing, did record some footage will try and upload it later when power comes back on. Constant lightning almost strobe like, thunder rumbling like a freight train and intense rain but little hail. Still watching it moving away with still spectacular lightning.

It hasn't been a good storm season here in south Wales so far this summer but something might be brewing in the Celtic Sea. Fingers crossed.

A quick update as I am still chasing but just witnessed a real humdinger near to Louth. Most impressive thing was the winds. Not sure the speed but enough that it was pulling the camcorder out my hand.

Close rumble from nowhere!

And after the rumble a series of screams could be heard from the local kids in their gardens!

Goes to show how hot it is that the 10mins of rain we had has nearly evaporated.

Loving the updates folks, but please be careful if you are out chasing! Don't take any unnecessary risks or get distracted with your tech and then write off your car! No photo or video is worth getting squashed flat for.

Usual other precautions apply (No golf courses, under trees, take shelter etc).....

I'm hoping the channel fuels these imports a bit and we see something just as it gets dark. I'm a little NW of where @Paul Sherman is and I can also confirm we have had zero rain, but lots of convection and some rumbles.

Stay Safe all!

All quiet now, dark clouds to my North East but sun peaking out from the West. Not expecting anymore tonight but overall had some great lightning and impressive rumbles of thunder

In Cambridge tonight.....it's been not mega storm time, but just great to look at a mean moody sky, similar to Bangkok sky line. And it's cooler....oh so nice.
