Lol think you have a few hours of storms to get through first from that band north of Peterborough, you will be sick of them by the end of tonight I think

Quite right. Also it is only a prop 30 for thunderstorms for John Lennon but better than nothing.

Yeah hopefully the NW gets something I'm in Stafford with Grandparents so hoping something happens over here!

YAY! Got storms here AT LAST! Started about 5.30pm. Lovely cool wind blowing and the odd burst of heavy rain accompanying the storms (on my second one now). I'll gladly take it.

aha fair point lol, though we haven't had a good storm in 3 years so this would make up for it ;)

We took a right pasting mate, was fantastic, 13mm of rain, plenty of lightning and booming thunder, my son is so happy.

Biblical rain here and only what I can describe as a lightning barrage akin with what you see in the States (if maybe not quite as frequent). Am a passenger in a car at the moment and a CG (multiple flashes) landed close enough to make the car shake and a phenomenal bang.

Roads are flash flooding in minutes.

Awesome!

Apparently, as I was spark out, 4 minutes of heavy rain and the storm cloud has dispersed here. Still ridiculously hot and I suspect we will not get any storms. I can hear very distant rumbling which will be the one over near Grantham I guess.

Sat at a services just south of Immingham. Escaped some large hail at Saltfleetby earlier and retreated. Raining and rumbling gently here away from the main core.

Main aim now after getting close to some severe storms is to get some nighttime lightning later. Difficult to see what the picture will look like in 3 hours but hopefully still some strong storms not too far away ?

Awesome radar structure on that storm in North Yorks

Possible hook echo showing there?

That’s the place to be just ahead of the main clump - that sure looks a possible supercell. Anyone near this?

What a scary storm that was. I’ve never heard such constant thunder from a storm! Got very gusty with straight line winds.
