Rapid developments now along the south coast, altocumulus rocketing up now. Clearly another trigger moving north for southern areas

Storms already kicking off in north Norfolk, not good if we are looking to set high temperatures today

Things are beginning to look, and feel, much more unstable here in Bexhill! There is plenty of Altocumulus/turkey towers around!

Cant see much happening for the north east away from the immediate coast line.. yet only last night storms were forecast over the pennies exclusively. Just goes to show with these storms its radar watching all the way

Newbie: Hi. Looking at the radar, storm cell South of the Isle of Wight and south-west of me here in Peacehaven. Does anyone have any idea if or when this cell will make landfall here? Haven't had a decent storm for such a long time.

Things are starting to change, lost all blue skies, now the haze has gone, its getting a pretty solid cloud cover now, though still very light in colour, not menacing at all.

I'm glad it is going East of me for a change. I have too much work outside at the moment, rain would hamper that.

I think we've missed that boat already. Much of East Anglia now covered in cloud. My high was 34.4C, now back down to 33.8C with a bit of cloud about.

Considering jumping in the car and heading a bit east to intercept the storms heading up the channel but it all looks a bit weak atm. Also don't fancy battling the Friday afternoon traffic.

I've just driven from Pompey back to Southampton and looked at the radar! Haha

Hoping those storms in the channel at the moment hit my area, any chance for us?, think the Worthing area has got a storm shield this year lol

I'm with you on that score. Peacehaven here, and fingers crossed for some action.

Over on UKWW some really hi-res model output some have access to produces some massive hail cores over East Anglia in the next few hours. Interestingly the simulations also produces another batch of storms in western Dorset and just offshore in the next couple of hours.

The Channel cells seems to have a more northwards component to them than what was predicted, models show the winds steering more towards the East however past 6pm so whether they'll make it into the Midlands or not is the question.

What a change from clear skies an hour ago to this. Deep rumbles from this Storm over Selsey.

Starting to boot off in Portsmouth. Lovely strike over Hayling/Selsey way.

I'm 9 floors up so can pretty much see everything along the coast.

Been waiting too long for something good.

Still sat just north of Mablethorpe. It looks like the cell on the north coast of Norfolk is moving in a NNW direction. Unfortunately not enough bearing west to put in on a collision course with me.

All starting to destablise now,  a strike of SW Wales, and Lyme Regis.   As that front pushes in.

Can hear distant thunder in Southampton now and the wind is picking up!

Looks like a cell may be starting to form NNW of Lincoln
