A decent, sunny start earlier, but its clouded over now from the South and the wind has picked up.

There's nothing on the radar at the moment, but it looks like rain could be on the way.

Surprised how low it got here last night with a low of -1.1°C meaning the first air frost is exactly a month earlier than it was last year.

Mostly cloudy after a sunny start to the day  and quite a few degrees higher than the last few days at 13.2°C.

Bought a nice pumpkin for £3 - did a minimalistic design and used one of my red led fishing rod tip lights.

Coldest Night of the autumn last night here with a low of -3.8C.

Didn't expect it to get lower than the -1.9C I saw last night to be honest before going indoors.

And a nice one it was too. Some impressive lightning towards Devonport and Torpoint. All very unexpected for Halloween.

Mind you we had a shower with biblical levels of rain around 7pm as well.

Is this a very slow squall line? It’s been amazing the rain levels and thunder and lightning for Halloween! We’ve been so lucky here tonight but driving home from work was tricky with the local flooding!

Nice to hear some people getting lightning - it's certainly been a while since there's been any in this area.

Meanwhile, just plugging October's figures, and it's the sunniest I've ever recorded, and was sunnier than September, August, as well as April and March! This could end up being the sunniest year I've recorded, despite such a dull first half to spring and August.

About 10°C higher than this time last night at 12.4°C. Was wondering whether there were any sparks with that heavy rain showing on the radar.

Morning, mild and moist here. Not currently raining but the sky is full of promise for more to top up what fell overnight. Autumnal, everything's dripping.

Hope no one minds me popping this in here, it's a lovely event in a beautiful village, if you fancy getting in the mood for Christmas, come along.

The doors of the Tithe Barn in historic Mells village, near Frome, open again for the wonderful winter market that is “Christmas in the Country”. For the weekend of 17th and 18th November, the barn will have 20 carefully selected stands of local makers and producers where you’ll find an excellent array of inspiration for Christmas preparations and presents for all budgets. New stalls join the selection this year, with much to tempt everyone. Every stall-holder takes months of work to prepare for the successful weekend event in November and their best sells often sells out.
Fairies & festive foods, silver & hand-made soaps, from pixies to pottery, mirrors and mosaics, candles to cast iron – and so very much more for you to choose for your Yuletide gatherings.
Mells Community “Pop-up” Café will be on duty both days in the barn with food and refreshments, mince pies and mulled wine with funds raised going towards this popular village asset. Mells Community Choir will also be joining us some time over the weekend to sing carols to get us all in the mood for the festivities.
“Christmas in the Country” opens on Saturday 17th from 10am until 5pm and from 10 am until 4 pm on Sunday 18th. Village Parking is available – follow the signs in the village.

Morning all, cold and crispy here again this morning. Sunny, clear blue sky, looks like a promising day ahead.
