Delightful out there, just had a torrential downpour in Salcombe with very gusty winds.

Looking at the radar that will hopefully be on its way pretty soon.

On a separate note, seems highly likely to me there are going to be flooding issues over the next week or so, given the apparent lack of any prolonged settled weather.

That Hurst Castle one is offline now. All of the others are circa 60mph, which seems more like it. There was one of these incidents with a station in Cornwall or Devon a few months back. It was showing something like 80mph, but no other stations near it were anything close to that speed. I don't trust ultrasonic anemometers, flying debris and rain drops skew wind speeds very easily.

Karlos the Poole one is interesting as it says Poole Harbour and the location reports it as

That makes sense then, not really too exposed there.

The direction of the wind this morning I think it probably had some shelter from Brownsea along with every single boat deciding to more up lol can’t think why

That looks like an intense area of rain that’s formed to the west of here, looks to be heading NE at the moment.

Mid afternoon monsoon underway and almost daytime darkness since   just after 14.00 .

For the 3rd day in a row it’s going to clear just in time for sunset, the difference today being there was a few hours of sunshine earlier.

There's no rain at all here but it looks very dark over that way

As is common with southwesterlies, the showers are all missing here.

So a couple weeks ago I sent an email to the Met Office about adding Summer 2018 to their extreme weather events page, and they've done it!

I have found the gap as well.

That's because we got them this afternoon!  Torrential downpours for a while, now clearing, temperature still 10.9°C.

Just started raining again here, dark skies overhead and a very orange sky to the west.

That’s probably the rain that’s over me at the moment.

Oh look it’s happened again. Another heavy line of showers breaks up as it approaches leaving me in a gap though the middle. Already happened with the squall line earlier and many other occasions recently. :wallbash:

Seas are very rough, I would not want to be on a boat in the channel right now

Very glad I was on terra firma this time! Think September has scarred me for life!

Not too bad here apart from when the squall line went through! That took part of my fence down

Ha I posted that and the gap moved slightly so now I've just caught the edge of it. 1.6mm in 5 minutes from it so far.
