here it comes ...

It’s evil outside and has been since 1530hrs across Plymouth. Took an hr to get home 2 miles!

Traffic is solid on A38 from Marsh Mills to Tamar Bridge. All main roads across City are gridlocked.

Thank goodness for Lamb Hotpot in the slow cooker

Bucketing it down now and winds are quite strong. I'm glad I took the clothes off the washing line!

Is the washing line still there?

At the moment, yes. But it came down during Ali so I'm a bit wary

Best of all is when the loft hatch gets sucked upwards and falls back wonky. Usually needs a F10/11 for that though. Letterboxes are next best though.

If the loft hatch moves I’m not convinced I should be in the house

Good to see you too Polar Bear. I have lurked a bit the last year but had too many health problems to do much more than that. Getting older I suppose but I never lose my love of storms or snow. Fingers crossed for some snow this winter!

Oh bless you. Sorry to hear that you've not been well. You keep that love of storms girl and yes fingers crossed for that snow. Looking forward to watching those events with you on the forum!

Had one that did that last year, realised after it was the tree outside blowing in the wind causing it to come on.

For me it is. My window faces East so no rain or wind gets in from these directions. I like to be able to hear the elements.

One downside of this storm... getting repeatedly slapped in the face by the leaves which are flying off the trees

on that subject anyone else think we've a lot more colour in the trees this year. Lots of yellow too feels like - anyway to me.. maybe cos we have had such lovely still and sunny weather to date the leaves have stayed on longer to change colour? Dunno ...

I usually leave my bedroom window open at night to hear and feel the breeze. South facing bedroom and half mile from the seafront so maybe close it tonight!

My not very exposed station has recorded 28mph which which I’d say is way below the actual top speed so far.
