Final total of 35.5mm for the last two days.  Clear of showers to S and SW now which is good news as I'm off to Minterne Gardens this morning hoping to see the colours in the sun.

Wow. Still early November and the MAD thread has blown up into arguments, good looking charts and people totally ignoring forum team members! Weird how quickly the summer season has gone this year...

It's gonna be a long winter, hopefully. Cheers

Do I need to go a watchin'?! How many inches are we getting?

I've no idea why a bloke who claims that he doesn't use the models, is bothering to post in the model output discussion.

Guess, guess, guess... Pointless.

You talking about me?

Hahaha. Certainly not, @matt111

Same every year, newbies lap it up and nobody learns anything. Very dull.

Windy today, but good spells of sunshine. Temp 13.6°C.

Met Office showing possibly the strongest wind gusts of the year, tomorrow eve.

Decent line of storms off the SW coast at the moment - plenty of sferics!

Shame it’s moving north not east.

Mendip Council have invested in a new gritting lorry, it's got 'Ice Destroyer' emblazoned down the side and is fitted with the biggest snow plough I've ever seen outside a ski resort. Is it wrong to have got very excited and spent the rest of the journey grinning like a Cheshire cat when I passed this beast on the way to work this morning?

Surely all that money spent by a cash strapped council has got to be a sign they believe the predicted deep and long solar minimum is going to usher in a new era of snowy winters? :yahoo:

I've had the same over the last few days. As it get's to 24hrs before, it disappears!

However, there's a good chance of some embedded storms through Saturday. Also, a slim chance early next week as troughs move through across Southern areas.

peak of the winds miss high tide here, but would still expect some issues around the usual spots, Sandbanks (Shore Road), Mudeford etc.

i won’t be venturing out as I’ve totally bu**ered my knee, can’t walk or drive.

Gin it is then

What have you done to your knee? I'm  recovering from what I thought was a knee injury,  but knew it wasn't a cartilage problem. Turns out it's referred pain from a hip flexor problem that's tightened one of the hamstrings and the inner knee was compensating.  Anyway this isn't a sport's injury forum

Anyhow,it's looking grim for most of tge evening even this far east.  Good excuse for feet up and gin

Yes looks like a nice end to the day coming up.

Relatively calm in comparison to what’s coming at the moment, breezy with cloudy skies and the occasional sunny spell. 12.8°C

I kicked one of the kids soft footballs indoors last night, and last night was in agony all night, today I can’t put any weight on it. It’s at the back of the knee that hurts so not sure what I’ve done. ?‍♂️

Got Private medical insurance, so going to see them Tuesday morning.

Knee Injury and a bit stormy in the south west, definitely worth popping in for a gin later when it kicks off.

Winds gusting over 100 Kph on the Lizzard, so seems warnings for winds certainly justified. ⚠️

Need my gate to survive tonight, moving soon and really can’t be ar**d to repair it!

You're definitely moving now then?

Wind picking up a bit here now although still not particularly strong yet.

Had a quick lunchtime wander down to North Sands, pretty much bang on low tide. Sea beginning to froth up more than my pic suggests.

High tide tonight is just before 7pm which is broadly when the strongest winds are forecast, so should expect some flooding in the car park down there.
