The October equivalent of December 2015 here today. Stupidly mild night, a damp start then often bright and sometimes sunny with a high of 22C!

I got roof damage from Friday, looking at the latest Sat..

ex-Leslie moving into Portugal / Spain with track shifted North, merged with the same front that has brought flooding rain to the Uk

Scroll out west, and ex-Hurricane Michael is approaching from the west

i sure hope neither of those two, come anywhere near me... at least, i need a few hours without wind / rain tomorrow morning

Yes, the contractor has to try to fix the roof early on a Sunday morning

Morning All, as expected the rain arrived (possibly a little earlier) and it’s been raining since 3am. So far we are up to 20mm in 6hrs of rainfall, but the forward speed , I.e. moving NNE, is reasonably quick. Temperature 11.6 °C.

Not posted much recently but not had much to post.

Some pretty cool minima at the end of September. Friday/Saturday were pretty windy but not really 'stormy' (rarely is here these days).
No particularly heavy falls of rain, with the heaviest west of here on Friday and east of here today.

Now the rain is easing off but not properly clearing, to leave another drab boring weekend day..

To everything - turn, turn, turn
There is a season - turn, turn, turn
And a time to every purpose under heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap

Tiz Acer & Ginko time to change...

Our large acer tree doesn't turn until November and December, how come yours is so much earlier than ours?

Smaller trees maybe. I'm sure Mapantz will be along soon as his Acers change.

I guess so. Funny story time actually, a couple months back in August I tried to give the tree a lovely trim but only once I was halfway through I realised I wasn't tall enough standing up or even tall enough on a step ladder to trim the top of it so I'm patiently waiting for it to lose it's leaves so I can climb up it and trim it once it's bare!

Rather annoyed to see a forecast of another wet day tomorrow!

To think until Friday evening all forecasts had this front clearing through by this morning leaving several lovely days, however now it's looking like still being here tomorrow evening!

Can I go back to bed please? This really isn't a day worth getting up for, dark, dank, cool here. I know we've got to have rain, I know autumn is a season with lots of beauty but when it's like this I long for cold, clear, crisp winter days or bright, hot, summer ones.

Just yuk!!

43mm in the last four days, still dreary, damp and miserable.  Not what they need for Sherborne's Pack Monday Fair, at least the wind's dropped and it's not actually heavy rain.

Still miles behind what you'd usually expect at this time of year. Be interesting how to see how Mr Cohen's theory stands up if it remains low throughout October...

I think over the next 2 weeks it is going to fill up quickly. I hope...

GFS certainly thinks so. I always prefer a cold start on the Continent anyway, logic has to say it would increase our chances of colder shots of weather, especially if we pick up a Beasterly!
